      The arrangement suited David but he soon started to feel lonely; On the third day he went to meet Steerforth at Highgate. His friend was away. After a couple of days Steerforth called him. David asked him to dine along with his friends Grainger and Markleham. They had a good time at the dinner and David got tipsy after having drunk too much. In this drunken state he visited a theatre along with others. He happened to meet Agnes there, who was ashamed of his rowdy behavior and asked him to go back home. The next morning, on waking up, David felt very ashamed of himself.
