Chapter 57: The Emigrants

      David did not reveal the news of Ham's death to the emigrants, so that they could go in peace and happiness. He went on board to say goodbye. He noticed that even before their departure Mr. Micawber was on the point of being arrested thrice because he had still to repay certain I.O.U's But he was freed after the sum mentioned therein was paid by his friends. Mr. Micawber was busy noting down all these amounts on a large sheet of paper.

      Mr. Peggotty was taking Martha to Australia as well for the service she had rendered in finding Emily. The Micawbers were also on the same ships. As the ship set sail, David saw Emily waving her hand and saying goodbye. She was standing at her Uncle's side.
