The Expedition

Summary

In the grave and gloomy morning, Oliver and Sikes got into the street. It was raining heavily. Sikes led Oliver through various streets and localities. They had to walk so many miles through the streets. In a few places Sikes managed with a cart-driver to give them lift over certain distance but most of the journey was made on foot. Ultimately they reached a dark and old house.

Critical Analysis

Very graphically the movement of Sikes and Oliver in the streets of London is presented. For Oliver the journey is a nightmare because he does not know about his destination, and he is fearful of being killed also.
