Lucy Poems: A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal

Also Read

A slumber did my spirit seal;
I had no human fears:
She seemed a thing that could not feel
The touch of earthly years.
No motion has she now, no force;
She neither hears nor sees;
Rolled round in earth’s diurnal course,
With rocks and stones, and trees.

SUMMARY

      A Slumber Did My Spirit Seal, was not included in the series but composed at the same time. Wordsworth says, that Lucy seemed to him a spirit not affected by the touch of passing years. But in a trice, she was dead and buried. She became a part of the earth from which she had come and was carried round with its daily rotation.
