      During the absence of Satan from Hell, when he went on his expendition to the newly created material universe to seduce Man from God, the bad angels disported, themselves in various forms of amusement. Some of them, more intellectual than the rest, discoursed on philosophy, debating in a lofty manner on such question as 'providence, foreknowledge absolute, free will fixed fate, etc., and they were lost in these endless discussions. They could not arrive at any definite conclusions, but confused themselves by discussing them with vehemence.
