      The theme of the Sonnet is the angry renunciation of love by the frustrated lover. He has enough bitter experience of the piercing pang of love in A Renouncing of Love. One of the prominent feature of Elizabethan Sonnet is the singleness of emotion and subject matter. The composition of Petrarchan sonnet also gains a harmony in the technique.
